The Mills Group feels Architecture and Art should come together to enrich our community. Help us celebrate the upcoming 20th anniversary of the firm as we give back to preserve the built environment of West Virginia!
We are seeking 20 West Virginia-based artists or artist teams to create site-specific artworks inspired by historic buildings across the state. Each artist will be paired with a different building and given creative freedom to interpret its history, setting, or cultural meaning – whether realistic or abstract, in any medium.
Selected works will be showcased in Mills Group offices statewide before being auctioned, with proceeds benefiting the Preservation Alliance of West Virginia.
Deadline to complete artwork: Oct. 15, 2025 Commission: $500 per selected artist/team (covers materials, design fees, travel, etc.) Theme: Celebrate the history and spirit of WV’s treasured architecture and towns.
