White Sulphur Springs-Mildred Mae Cox, 94, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 26, at Allegheny Regional Hospital, Low Moor, VA.

She was born July 26, 1920, in Elkins, the daughter of the late Ray Emery and Mamie Miller Yeager.

Mrs. Cox was a member of Durbin United Methodist Church and was retired from Hanover Shoe Company.

Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George “Max” Cox.

Surviving Mrs. Cox are: daughter, Janet S. (Jacky, Sr.) Varner of Millville, NJ; son, William M. (Juanita) Cox of White Sulphur Springs; grandchildren, David (Donna) Warner, Gina (Jim) Cavender, Michael (Karen) Cox, Jodi (Hurley) Campbell, Jack, Jr. (Sharon) Varner and Kendra (Gregg) Bostard; 17 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held on Friday, Aug. 29 at 1 p.m. at Elkins Memorial Gardens (formerly the IOOF Cemetery) in Elkins with Pastor David Rittenhouse officiating.

Per her request there will be no visitation.
