Neola-Melissa Dale Deichert, 60, passed away on Saturday, June 25, 2016, at her home.
Born Feb. 28, 1956, at Neola, she was a daughter of Faye Hull VanBuren and the late John Dale VanBuren.
She was a retired cook, having worked in restaurants in Ohio. Melissa was of the Protestant faith and attended Greenbrier East High School. She was an avid reader and loved to work in the yard tending her flower gardens.
Preceding her in death, other than her father, were her husband, Allen Deichert; granddaughter, Mariah Christin Deichert in 2007; and son, Adam Deichert.
Survivors, other than her mother, include: son, Troy Deichert of Northfield, OH; grandson, Aden Deichert; brothers, Richard VanBuren (Audrey) of White Sulphur Springs, Glen VanBuren (Erica) and John VanBuren all of Neola; and several nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles.
Services were held on Saturday, July 2, in the chapel of Shanklin Funeral Home where Rev. Bobby McClintic officiated. Burial will be in the Watts Cemetery in Neola at a later date. Visitation was before the service at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, donations of sympathy may be made to the White Sulphur Springs Emergency Fund, 589 Main Street West, White Sulphur Springs, WV 24986, in memory of Melissa Deichert.
