Mary P. Relihan
Lewisburg-Mary P. Relihan, 85, passed away Tuesday, June 9, 2015, in Lewisburg.
She was born in Smoot and was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas and Josie Reiihan and her sister, Catherine.
A graduate of West Virginia University, she earned her Ph.D. in English from the University of Tennessee, her teaching career spanned 43 years at both secondary and collegiate level. She was very proud of her students.
She is survived by: her four cousins, Julia Akers (Barry) of Roanoke, VA, Patti Burwell (Rusty) of Spring Dale, WV, Mary Ellen Childers (Roger) of Crawley and Liz (Ed) Warwick of Cleveland, OH; her beloved cats and her dog, Eppy and many friends.
A memorial mass was celebrated at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Spring Dale, on Thursday, June 25, where Father Rey Landicho officiated.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Spring Dale, WV 25986.
