Ronceverte-Mary Elizabeth “Libby” Taylor, 91, passed away Saturday, Jan. 22, 2022, after a long illness.

Libby was born June 28, 1930, in Lewisburg and was the daughter of the late Forrest H. and Mary Susan Hayes Withrow.

Libby was a 1948 graduate of Greenbrier High School. She worked for C&P Telephone from 1948 to 1951 and was a retired Cook for the Greenbrier County School System with over 20 years of service. She was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church for over 75 years, United Methodist Women, the Ronceverte Women’s Club and the Red Hatters!

Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Compton Taylor; sons, Doug and Greg Taylor; sisters, Edith McNally, Barbara Jean “BJ” Thomson and Patsy Pyne; brother, Bill Withrow; and a very dear friend, Merle Morgan.

Libby’s survivors include her daughter, Donna Taylor Chadwick and husband Earl of Maryland; grandchildren, Sara Chadwick, Steven Chadwick and Gregory Taylor all of Maryland; sister-in-law, Judy Echols;  nieces and nephews, Myra (Jerry) Swepston, Mike (Beth) Withrow, Tina (Greg) Gibson, John Pyne, Stephen Brent Cooke, Tim Cooke, Nancy Withrow; great-nephew, Joe Withrow; and other nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be at 12 noon on Friday, Jan. 28, at the Wallace & Wallace Funeral Home in Ronceverte with Pastor Stephen Brent Cooke officiating.

The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home with Covid protocols.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Trinity United Methodist Church; 373 Pocahontas Ave., Ronceverte, WV 24970.
