Cornstalk– Marjorie Madeline Workman, 96, of Cornstalk, WV, passed away peacefully at her home, Friday, Nov. 12, 2021.
Born Sept. 8, 1925 in Williamsburg, WV, she was a homemaker.
Marjorie served her community by volunteering at community functions and working on the Williamsburg Rescue Squad. She loved quilting and she donated quilts to families in need, she also provided childcare for several local families. Marjorie was a member of Andrew Chapel United Methodist Church. She was well loved and will be missed by all her family and friends in the community.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Osie Winfrey; her husband, Pat Workman; son, Basil Workman; two sisters, Violet Williams, and Mildred McMillion; two brothers, Dewey, and Melvin Winfrey.
Marjorie is survived by three brothers, Homer Winfrey of Howard, OH, Donnie Winfrey (Rose) of Ocala, FL and Clyde Winfrey (Debbie) of Williamsburg, WV; two daughters, Shirley Workman of Cornstalk and Gale Lowe of Lewisburg; seven grandchildren, Rick Webb of Alderson, Scott Webb of Fairlea, Hope Jordan (Joey) of Cornstalk, Pat Workman (Heather) of Neola, Doug Lowe (Leah) of Chesapeake, OH, David Lowe of Olive Branch, MS and Darren Lowe of Lewisburg. Also surviving are 17 great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren, several nieces, and nephews.
Funeral service was held Wednesday, Nov. 17, at the Morgan Funeral Home Chapel where Pastor Denver Tiller officiated. Burial followed in the James Chapel UMC Cemetery, Clintonville. Visitation was one hour prior to the Wednesday service at the funeral home.
