Marcia (Marti) N. Marshall, 79, of Lykens, formerly of Renick, WV, passed away Friday, June 19, 2026 at the Tremont Health and Rehabilitation Center.

Marcia was born in Allegheny County on Saturday, Aug. 3, 1946, the only daughter of the late Marion and Wanda Byrd Newton.

Marcia was employed as an assistant news editor with the Mountain Messenger, a local newspaper in Lewisburg, WV. She also served as a Director of Flood Outreach and Recovery in Greenbrier County after the flood in 1985.

Marcia will be remembered as a creative spirit and fabulous artist. She had a talent for sculpting, painting, and jewelry making.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George Thomas Marshall.

Surviving are her two daughters, Rebecca M. Heilman and her husband Jeff Heilman, Lykens, PA and Mary M. Lee and her husband Steven A. Lee, Moscow, ID; seven grandchildren, Brandon Powell, Elizabeth Kirby and her husband Adam, Gabriella Knight, Thomas Adams, Ian Lee, Duncan Lee and Jasper Lee; and four great-grandchildren, Kimber Lilly, Kendall Lilly, John David Lilly and Kennedy Kirby.

A Celebration of Marcia’s Life will be held at the convenience of the family.
