<span style="line-height: 1.5em;">This week, U.S. Senators Joe Manchin (D-WV) and Shelley Moore Capito (R-WV) announced that a total of $1,281,473 in grant funding from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services has been awarded to the Monroe County Health Center. The funding will be used to help cover the costs of caring for underinsured or uninsured patients, as well as attracting, recruiting and retaining highly qualified medical professionals.<\/span>\r\n\r\n\u201cFor over 40 years, Monroe Health Center has been serving residents in Monroe County and the surrounding area,\u201d Manchin said. \u201cThis funding is wonderful news for the clinic and the community it serves. All West Virginians deserve access to quality healthcare, and I\u2019m pleased this funding will enable the Monroe Health Center to continue providing it.\u201d\r\n\r\n\u201cI\u2019m pleased this funding is headed to West Virginia to support the Monroe County Health Center,\u201d said Capito. \u201cThis operational grant funding will allow the facility to continue carrying out its mission of providing convenient, high-quality health care to patients in Southern West Virginia.
