Maggie Virginia Pugh Caudell

White Sulphur Springs-Maggie Virginia Pugh Caudell, 89, passed away Tuesday morning, Jan. 7, 2014, at the White Sulphur Springs Family Care Center. Maggie’s generosity, love and kindness will live in our hearts forever.

She was born Jan. 31, 1924, on Backus Mountain, Fayette County, the daughter of the late Sam Henry and Ella Ester Gill Pugh.

Mrs. Caudell was a member of the Church of God and a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jennings Bernard Caudell; and brother, Arlie Pugh.

Surviving are: her son, Robert S. Caudell and companion Carolyn Boone of White Sulphur Springs; sisters, Dorothy (Frank) Anderson of Laurel, MD and Verna (Irvin) Asbury of Jacksonville, FL; brothers, Ralph Pugh of Layland, Denny Pugh of Tupelo, MS and Harmon Pugh of Piney View, WV; seven grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Mrs. Caudell were held Thursday, Jan. 9 at the Harrah Cemetery on Backus Mountain where Rev. Mike Wilson officiated. Upon Maggie’s request there was no visitation.

Wallace & Wallace Funeral Home in Lewisburg was in charge of arrangements.
