Lucky Randolph Richmond

Alderson-Lucky Randolph Richmond, 68, passed away Monday, Feb. 17, 2014, at his home in Alderson, following a long illness.

Born August 8, 1945, in Hinton, he was the son of the late William Everette and Lydia Vernice Adkins Richmond.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Shelia Lockridge Richmond; brother, Shirley Richmond; and two sisters, Elgina Ward and Brenda Lilly.

Mr. Richmond was a radio communication supervisor, having retired from the West Virginia Department of Highways, District Nine, Lewisburg. Prior to his employment with the West Virginia Department of Highways, he was the owner and operator of Lucky’s Radio and TV, Alderson. Mr. Richmond enjoyed woodworking, and he loved to hunt and fish, especially trout fishing.

Survivors include: son, Jeffrey R. Richmond and wife Beth Lindsey Richmond of Ronceverte; daughter, Angela V. Atkeison and husband James “Red” Atkeison of Billings, MT; two brothers, Bobby Richmond and wife Rose of Richmond, VA and Terry Richmond and wife Armetta of Beckley; two sisters, Janice Sears and husband Allen of Hix and Melanie Richmond of Maine; eight grandchildren, Anna Richmond, Tanner Richmond, Abby Richmond, Laken Suttle, Johnathan Hatfield, Dylan Hatfield, Drew Atkeison, and Paige Atkeison; two great-grandchildren, Hunter and Gabe Suttle; and many nieces and nephews.

In honor of Mr. Richmond’s wishes, following cremation, a private service will be held at a later date.
