Caldwell-Louise Virginia Mentz, 83, passed away Thursday, Nov. 21, 2019, at her home at Caldwell.

Born Sept. 22, 1936, at Glace, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Della Morris Jones.

She was a member of Second Creek Pentecostal Holiness Church and was a cook for Granny’s Restaurant at Harts Run for over 30 years. She also worked for both Greenbrier State Forest and Carlito’s Restaurant.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Mentz, Sr. on Apr. 11, 2012; daughter, Melissa Galford; son-in-law, Jimmy Waddell; sister, Mary Adwell; and brother, Frank Jones.

She is survived by daughters, Phyllis (Jim) Blankenship, Dorothy Waddell and Edna (Sonny) Weikle; son, Robert Bruce (Pam) Mentz, Jr.; son-in-law, Ivan Galford; sister, Lucy Vance; grandchildren, Jeffrey Galford, Stephanie Galford, Michelle Galford, Jessica Weikle, Augustine Weikle, Jenny Mentz and Sarah Mentz; great-grandchildren, Summer Tucker, Andrew Tucker, Austin Weikle, Victoria Galford, Jeffrey Galford, Jr., Kennedy Holliday, Spencer Holliday, Ethan Holliday, and Maisyn Surgeon; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 1 at Second Creek Pentecostal Holiness Church, with Pastor Don Trent officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Park Cemetery, Second Creek.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 30 at Wallace & Wallace Funeral Home in Ronceverte.
