On Thursday, July 17, Greenbrier Valley Indivisible and the Greenbrier County Democratic Women’s Club are hosting a community rally from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Green Space in downtown Lewisburg. Community members in Greenbrier County and surrounding communities will join Americans nationwide at hundreds of peaceful, nonviolent action-inspired events to honor the legacy of Congressman John Lewis and protest the growing attacks on our civil, human, and voting rights.
The local action in Lewisburg is part of Good Trouble Lives On – a nationwide day of peaceful, nonviolent action rooted in the legacy of the civil rights movement and inspired by John Lewis’ call to make “good trouble, necessary trouble.”
Participants will gather to demand an end to the authoritarian attacks on our rights to vote, protest, and organize – and to stand united against efforts to criminalize our communities, roll back our rights, and slash vital public programs.
Information about registering to vote and how to make your voice heard during these challenging times will be available.
