Ronceverte – Linda Carol Honaker, 70, went to be with the Lord Wednesday, Oct. 4, 2017.

Born Dec. 21, 1946, in Union, she was the daughter of the late Mason O’Dell Dowdy and Pauline Frances Burns Dowdy.

Other than her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Jeffery Franklin Honaker; an infant son, Jason Honaker; sister, Rachel Defibaugh; and brother, Rick Dowdy.

She was a receptionist for Dr. Sams’ office. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and aunt. Linda was a member of Ronceverte Baptist Church.

She is survived by daughter, Julie Hackney of Ronceverte; grandchildren, Noah Hackney and Evan Hackney; sister, Kay Weikle and husband Billy of Organ Cave; brother, Bobby Dowdy and wife Barbara of Fort Spring; sister-in-law, Rita Dowdy of Princeton; brother-in-law, Billy Defibaugh of Caldwell; special aunt, Ila Mae Dowdy Morgan; special friends, Sally Dixon and Nancy Berry; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Sunday, Oct. 8, at the Ronceverte Baptist Church where the Pastor Andy Howdock officiated. Burial was in Greenbrier Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Lewisburg.

Visitation was one hour prior to the service at the church.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made in her memory to Wallace & Wallace Funeral Home in Lewisburg.
