<h5>Renick-Lila Litchfield Vanderpool, 82, passed away Thursday, Feb. 20, 2014, at Greenbrier Valley Medical Center, Ronceverte.<\/h5>\r\nBorn June 26, 1931, at Southside, she was a daughter of the late James Robert and Kate Putney Litchfield.\r\n\r\nPreceding Lila in death, in addition to her parents, are brothers, Buster, Delbert and James Litchfield and half-sister, Mae Mayes.\r\n\r\nLila received her Bachelor\u2019s Degree from Morris Harvey College and a Masters from West Virginia University. She was a teacher at Point Harmony in West Virginia for several years and then was an exchange teacher in England for one year. She then returned and taught in West Virginia for just a short period before going to work for Laidlaw Brothers Textbook Publishing Company, then Double Day Publishing Co. before retiring. She loved going to the elementary schools in the area to read to the children.\r\n\r\nShe is survived by: her husband of 43 years, Selwyn Vanderpool: sisters-in-law, Ina Litchfield and Lorena Litchfield; and a very close friend, Denece Grim.\r\n\r\nServices will be at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Mar. 1 at Calvary United Methodist Church at Richlands with Pastor Emory Hanna officiating,\r\n\r\nThe family will receive friends from 12 noon until time of the services at the church on Saturday.\r\n\r\nWallace & Wallace Funeral Home in Lewisburg is in charge of arrangements.\r\n\r\nPlease send online condolences by visiting <a href="http:\/\/www.WallaceandWallaceFH.com" target="_blank">www.WallaceandWallaceFH.com<\/a>.
