The Lewisburg Farmers Market will begin their 2019 season with a Winter Indoor Market on Saturday, Jan. 5, from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Gus R. Douglass Annex Building (beside the West Virginia Building) at the WV State Fairgrounds.

The indoor market continues to offer all of the wonderful locally grown and produced items that our customers have come to love and expect. These items include chicken, pork, lamb, vegetables, fruits, free range eggs, herbs, baked goods, garlic, jams, jellies, syrups, crafts, calendars, and more. You can even come and get a massage.

Winter greens are here at the LFM indoor market, so come out and get your fresh greens! The LFM Cafe will also be open this Saturday from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the Gus Douglass building. Using local ingredients from our farmers and vendors, chef Farmer Tim will offer the following menu items:

Soup special: Local chicken stock, butternut puree, grated ginger and roasted sweet potato soup with a side of local organic bread.

Entree special: local beef and ground local pork, herb, and kale meatballs served on an organic local fresh baked roll topped with caramelized local S/S Farm onions and bedded down on an organic local Azimuth Organics Greens with your choice of organic side.

Sandwich special: Pork and beef meatloaf sandwich topped with caramelized veggies and your choice of side or Herbs Sloppy Joe with organic spinach on an organic local roll with side for $5.

Breakfast special: Two local farm fresh eggs and Dogwood Hill sausage sandwich on an organic roll for $3.75

Salad special: Organic salad plate with local greens piled high with 4 organic sides (potato salad, egg salad, cole slaw, and hummus) $6

Vegetarian special: kate, herb, roasted garlic and 3 organic cheese bake with your choice of side

Hummus and greens sandwich with side, egg salad and greens sandwich with side, the galaxy’s least expensive cup of organic dark roast coffee for $1, and freshly grated and locally grown turmeric and ginger tea, found only at the indoor market for $1.

So come out and have breakfast or lunch while you shop!

Did you know that the LFM Indoor Market also has weekly entertainment?  From 8:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. come out and listen to Robert Wilson skillfully play his clarinet. Then, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., tap your toes to the sounds of the Appalachian String Band! Fun for the whole family!

LFM accepts SNAP, EBT, and credit cards. See the market manager for more
