If knee or hip pain is keeping you from enjoying an active lifestyle, you may be a candidate for a total joint replacement. To learn more about the surgical options available, LewisGale Hospital Alleghany will host “Dinner with a Doc.” This free program will feature Orthopedic Surgeon James McCoig, M.D.
Dr. McCoig is board certified in orthopedic surgery and has more than 20 years of experience in the field. In addition to his expertise in total joint replacement, he also specializes in sports medicine. Dr. McCoig attended medical school and completed his residency at the University of Virginia.
The public is invited to attend “Dinner with a Doc” on Wednesday, Sept. 25 from 5 to 6 p.m. in the hospital dining room. Dr. McCoig will also offer a question and answer session following his presentation. Physical therapists and nurses will also be available to provide additional information about the surgery and recovery process.
To register for the event, call Consult-A-Nurse, a free 24/7 physician referral and health information service, at 1-877-2HCA-DOCS (1-877-242-2362).
“Joint replacement can be a life changing for patients,” said Greg Madsen, CEO, LewisGale Hospital Alleghany. “We want patients to be aware of the treatment options and the expert care available in this community to help them live a healthier life.”
