Karen C. Wright Murray Hammonds, 67, of White Sulphur Springs, formerly of Alderson, passed away Mar. 7, 2025.
She was born Aug. 25, 1957, a daughter of the late Norman Henry Murray, Jr. of Mount Airy, MD, and her mother, Dorothy Marlee Murray, of Maryland.
While employed, Karen had worked as a CNA at the Brier Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Ronceverte for many years. She enjoyed helping and caring for others. She also enjoyed going to church and loved watching wildlife. Most of all, she loved her family dearly.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lonnie Ray Wright, Sr.
In addition to her mother, survivors include her sister, Teresa Murray; daughters, Jessica S. Crane of Clintonville, and Crystal L. Madison of Marlinton; eight grandchildren and a host of other family and friends.
Funeral services were held in Maryland on Mar. 11, 2025.
A celebration of life for family and friends will be held at 2 p.m. on May 4, at Greenbrier State Forest, Shelter #1.
