Charles Basil Callison, Jr. of Meadow Bridge, passed away Friday, Apr. 18, 2025. He was 83. He was the son of Charles Basil Callison, Sr, and Juanita Fitzgerald Callison. He was born in Springdale, WV, on June 28, 1941.
He was married to Virginia Lee Childers Callison of White Sulphur Springs for 61 incredible years. He has two sons, Greg Callison (Chika) of New Jersey and Chuck Callison (Angie) of South Carolina. He has four grandchildren, Martika Callison, Lucas Callison, Melody Callison, and Andre Callison. He has two surviving siblings, Tammy Wilson and Yvonne Winnings, and was preceded in death by twin sister Charlotte Clonch and brother Elmo Callison. He had three nephews, Marcus Clonch, Lewis Winnings, and Daryl Winnings and one niece, Kimberly Clonch.
Charles worked for and retired from Westvaco Corporation. He was a Deacon and Lifetime Member of the First Baptist Church Of Springdale. He was a kind and generous man, and loved spending time with his family. He had a great sense of humor and a positive attitude about life, and always knew what to say when a family member was struggling with life’s never ending challenges. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed long walks. Charles will be missed so much by so many, but we know he is in Heaven now, and that brings peace to our Hearts.
