Lewisburg-Karen Brown Eggleston, 64, passed away on Wednesday, June 3, 2015, at Roanoke Memorial Hospital in Roanoke, VA.
Karen was born Mar. 3, 1951, in Washington, DC, the daughter of the late Jack K. and Virginia Dare Spence Brown.
She was a member of the Associate Reform Presbyterian Church in Fairlea, Women Ministries of the church, member of the Preceptor Alpha Lambda Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, and FFA sponsor at Greenbrier Fast High School. She loved her family, was a very talented seamstress, avid gardener, loved reading books, and being at the beach, as well as the designated driver for her sorority sisters on their various excursions.
Surviving are her husband, Ron Eggleston; daughter, Autumn Fogel and husband Aaron of Nashville, TN; son, Kevin Eggleston and wife, Iris of Ona; sister, Janet B. Turner and husband, Donnie of Lewisburg; aunt and uncle, James and Edith Spence of Knoxville, TN; nephews, Eric, Ryan and Nathan Turner; nieces, Tracey, Leanne, Haven and Amy Eggleston; as well as several cousins and brothers-in-law, Michael and Dave Eggleston.
Karen’s memorial service was held Sunday, June 7, at the Associate Reform Presbyterian Church in Fairlea where Rev. Ike Hughes officiated. The family greeted their family and friends at the church before the service.
The family suggests memorial contributions for one of her pet projects: the Ronceverte Public Library, 712 West Main Street, Ronceverte, WV 24970.
