Ronceverte-Juhan R. Sams, 91, passed away early Thursday morning, July 21, 2016, at Greenbrier Valley Medical Center.

Born Apr. 5, 1925, at Nuttallburg, WV, he was a son of the late Hubert Hamilton Sams and Mabel Florence Counts Sams. Also preceding him in death was his wife, Lois Hodges Sams in 2012.

Julian worked 41 years as a route salesman for Coca-Cola in Ronceverte serving the White Sulphur Springs area.

He was a faithful member of Ronceverte First Church of God. He was a caring man who loved his family and cherished each of his friends.

Survivors include daughter, Linda Porterfield and husband Ronald of Covington, GA; two granddaughters, Gina Bergeron and husband Geoffrey and Julie Donaldson and husband Jackie; nine great-grandchildren and seven great-great grandchildren.

His funeral service was held Saturday, July 23, at the Wallace & Wallace Funeral Home in Lewisburg where Pastors Richard Smith and Everett Defibaugh officiated. Burial followed in Rosewood Cemetery in Lewisburg.

Friends called before the service at the funeral home.
