Organ Cave-Joyce Gadd, 83, passed away Monday, Sept. 2, 2019, surrounded by her loving family at Peyton Hospice House, Lewisburg.
Born Mar. 15, 1936, at Ronceverte, she was the daughter of the late Lucy Briggs Zimmerman.
Joyce along with her late husband, Clarence Gadd, co-owned and operated Gadd’s IGA Stores.
In addition to her mother and husband, she was preceded in death by sisters, Barbara Thacker, Joan Myers and Betsy Boyce.
She is survived by two daughters, Sabrina Morgan (Tony) of Organ Cave, and Marcheta McMillion of Alderson; brother, Emory “Spade” Zimmerman (Leona) of Floyd, VA; sister, Janet Brown of Lewisburg; grandchildren, Nicole Dickerson (Jody), Tonia McCoy (Tommy), Jacob Kearns, Sunny Sanchez and Dusty Morgan; great-grandchildren, Maggie and Abbie McCoy, Madison and Macie Dickerson and Aiden and Keegan Sanchez; sister-in-law, Mary Martinez; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service was held on Wednesday, Sept. 4, at the Morgan Funeral Home Chapel, Lewisburg, where Pastor Gary Baker officiated. Entombment followed in the Greenbrier Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.
Visitation was at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
