Sophia-John Joseph Paonessa, Jr., 69, passed away Monday, Oct. 18, 2021 at Raleigh General Hospital, Beckley, WV.

John was born July 29, 1952 in New Britain, CT, the son of the late John J. and Delores V. Dagata Paonessa, Sr.

He was of the Catholic Faith and had worked as a baker at The Greenbrier Hotel for 15 years.

Surviving Mr. Paonessa are his daughters, Nickole Spencer of Clintonville, and Angel Paonessa of Sophia; grandchildren, Winter and Lyla Spencer and Exavier and Kingston Boone; sister, Denise Fish of Nashville, TN; and his brother, Jimmy Paonessa of Stuart, FL.

It was John’s request to be cremated a celebration of Life to be held at a later date in Florida.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations be made to Wallace & Wallace Funeral Home to help with expenses.
