Holy Week services announced for Catholic Churches of the Greenbrier Valley

A schedule of special services for Holy Week has been announced for the Catholic Churches of the Greenbrier Valley and the public is invited to all services.

The Holy Thursday Mass celebrating the establishment of the Holy Eucharist and featuring the washing of the feet ceremony will be held at noon, Apr. 2, in St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church on US 60 West, across from The Greenbrier’s Clinic, and at 6 p.m. at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church at the corner of Walnut Street and WV 63 West, behind the Ronceverte Public Library.

The Good Friday service with the veneration of the cross will be at 3 p.m. at St. Charles Borromeo and 6 p.m. at St. Catherine of Siena on Apr. 3.

On Apr. 4, the Easter Vigil Mass will be held at St. Charles Borromeo in White Sulphur Springs at 4 p.m. and at St. Catherine of Siena in Ronceverte at 7 p.m.

Easter Sunday Masses, Apr. 5, will be at 7 a.m. and 9 a.m. at St. Charles Borromeo and 11 a.m. at St. Catherine of Siena with special music at the 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. Masses.

Easter Monday daily Mass, Apr. 6, will be celebrated at St. Louis, King of France, Catholic Church on Coleman Drive, Lewisburg (behind Shoney’s) at 7 a.m.

Early in Holy Week, daily Mass will be Monday, Mar. 30, at 7 a.m. at St. Louis, King of France, Church and Tuesday, Mar. 31, at 8:30 a.m. at St. Catherine of Siena Church in Ronceverte.

Father Chapin Engler and Father Jim Conyers serve the five churches which make up the Catholic Churches of the Greenbrier Valley. The two not having services during Holy Week at the Catholic Church of Mary Immaculate at Williamsburg and St. John, the Evangelist, Catholic Church, Sweet Springs.
