Jim Hobson has been named Chief Executive Officer of Greenbrier Valley Medical Center effective Jan. 8. He comes to GVMC from True North Custom in Chattanooga, TN.

“I look forward to working with the board, physicians and employees to provide our patients with the compassionate medical care they need,” said Hobson. “It will be an honor to lead Greenbrier Valley Medical Center and support this staff’s dedication to providing quality healthcare.”

Jim has served as President/CEO of True North Custom; a Tennessee based healthcare marketing strategy company since 2016. Prior to his position with True North, he served as CEO of CHI Memorial Healthcare System, overseeing an integrated healthcare delivery system with 405 beds across two acute care hospitals. He began his healthcare career at Methodist Hospitals of Memphis Tennessee and has since applied his leadership skills as Executive Vice President and COO at Phoebe Putney Health System (PPHS) in Albany, Georgia.

“Jim has the leadership skills and business acumen to support continued growth in services and quality while promoting a culture that provides an exceptional patient experience,” said Dr. Chris White, Board of Trustees Chairman for Greenbrier Valley Medical Center. “He is enthusiastic and passionate about quality healthcare. We look forward to working with Jim and welcoming him to our community.”

Jim earned a master’s degree in economics from the University of Memphis and his bachelor’s degree in government from Centre College of Kentucky. Jim and his wife, Kim, along with their two children, Coleman and David, look forward to becoming an active part of the Greenbrier Valley community.
