The Greenbrier Valley Farmers Market will open for the 2014 season this Saturday, Apr. 19, at its “green space” on the corner of Arbuckle Lane and Rt. 219 in downtown Lewisburg. To celebrate the Easter weekend, join us at 11 a.m. for an Easter Egg Hunt at the Farmer’s Market for kids and kids at heart.

2014 brings new items, new looks and new vendors to the market. This is the market’s 3rd year, and the vendors have planted and planned for a successful season. Visitors to the market this Saturday can expect to find fresh greens, spring onions, local beef, lamb, pork and eggs, artisan breads and baked goods to satisfy everyone’s sweet tooth. Vegetable, flower and herb plants for the garden will be available from several farmers beginning this month. Market-goers can take home a spring bouquet of fresh cut flowers.  With the warmer days coming, strawberries and asparagus will soon round out the seasonal treats.

Come join us on the green space to celebrate what spring has to offer. We look forward to seeing you!

GVFM welcomes new vendors to the market. Interested persons can contact West Farm at 304-497-3840 or Milligan Creek Farms at 304-904-0552. GVFM operates Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. and Wednesdays, 3 to 7 p.m., May through October.
