The Greenbrier River Rollers’ Vixens hostedAthens Ohio Roller Derby’s Appalachian Hell Betties (AORD) in their season opener on Apr. 11 before a packed house at the West Virginia Building of the state fairgrounds.

The official final score was 259-54 with Greenbrier securing their first victory in 2015. Becka D. Wrecka (Rebecca Schilling) and A. Ziegler (Anna Ziegler) were named Greenbrier’s Most Valuable Jammer and Most Valuable Blocker, respectively. The Greenbrier River Rollers donated a portion of the proceeds from the game and the half and half raffle to the Child and Youth Advocacy Center.

On Saturday, May 2, the Greenbrier River Rollers host the Rocktown Rollers from Harrisonburg, VA. The game will be held at the West Virginia Building of the state fairgrounds. Due to construction, please enter the fairgrounds from U.S. Route 219 North at Gate 5. Tickets are available at the door or in advance at the Wild Bean and When Pigs Fly BBQ. Davis Stuart, Inc. will receive a portion of the proceeds from the bout. Bleacher seating is limited but you are encouraged to bring your own chair and sit trackside. Doors open at 5 p.m. with music provided by Greenbrier East High School’s “2nd Block Rock,” and the game will begin at 6 p.m. Concessions and beer will be sold by When Pigs Fly BBQ. Come out to show your support for the Geenbrier River Rollers and Davis Stuart, Inc. Following the game, join the team at the Irish Pub on Washington Street.
