Gray Alexander Loudermilk

Bassett, VA-Gray Alexander Loudermilk, 98, passed away Thursday, Aug. 2, 2018, at his son’s residence.

Gray was born Feb. 6, 1920, to the late Johnnie and Bertha Loudermilk in Clintonville.

Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by grandson, Tim Loudermilk; brothers, Guy, Gordon, Garland, Gerald, Bill, Glen and Leo; and sister, Gracie Hinkle.

He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Velma Bryant Loudermilk; sons, Albert Loudermilk (Kathy), and Alfred Loudermilk (Kim); siblings, Hub Loudermilk (Evelene), Earl Loudermilk (Jane), Bob Loudermilk, and Maryetta Martin; grandsons, Alen (Suzanna) Loudermilk, and Kevin (Erica) Loudermilk; as well as seven great-grandchildren.

Gray served in the United States Navy during WWII in Hiroshima. He also attended New Covenant Fellowship in Bassett, VA.

Graveside service will be held Sunday, Aug. 5, at 11 a.m. at Wallace Memorial Cemetery in Clintonville.

Wallace & Wallace Funeral Home in Lewisburg is in charge of arrangements.
