Glenna June Mongole

White Sulphur Springs-Glenna June Mongole, 86, passed away Wednesday, Apr. 17, 2019, at The Brier Nursing Home in Ronceverte.
Born June 21, 1932, at White Sulphur Springs, Glenna was the last surviving child of 13 children to the late Harry Lee and Zettie Cox Bittinger.
She was a waitress and caregiver during her working life and loved to read, but her greatest joy came from spending time with her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and her sons- and daughters-in-law.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Alfred “Bud” Mongole; son, Michael Hunt; daughter-in-law, Wanda Sue Burns; five sisters and seven brothers.
She leaves behind daughters, Hallie (Danny) Lawhorne of Clifton Forge, VA, Helen Burns, Audrey (Richie) VanBuren, Darlene (Rob) Teal, Lisa (Tony) Taylor and Lynn Lingerman, all of White Sulphur Springs and Carol (John) Sloper of Myrtle Beach, SC; sons, Grover (Judy) Burns and Julian Burns, both of White Sulphur Springs and Gene (Kimberly) Mongole of Maryland; daughter-in-law, Brenda Hunt of Ronceverte; Also 19 grandchildren, Angela (Andy) Brown, Michael (Tammy) Evans, Brandon (Amy) Hunt, Greg Byers, Brent Byers, Holly Jo (Stephen) Gillispie, Neil (Brianna) Burns, John (Ashley) Burns, Keith (Marybeth) VanBuren, Savannah Burns, Jay Burns, Elijah Burns, Nicole Lawhorn, Alicia (Doug) Hoke, B.J. Leech, Haley Burns, MaKenzie (Chance) Lyall, Geena Mongole and Brent Mullins; 23 great-grandchildren, Madi Brown, Evan Brown, Hayden Evans, Keegan Evans, Garrett Byers, Austin Byers, Jenna Byers, Phoebe Gillispie, Brady Burns, Emma Burns, Donovan VanBuren, Madison VanBuren, Oshea Boone, Kaitlyn Burns, Chloe Lawhorn, Kylie Lawhorn, Summer Leech, Aubree Leech, Zander Leech, Layla Hoke, Ivan Hoke, Afton Lyall, and Rylee Taylor; special friends, Jeannie Hambrick Hanna and Fred Giggenbach.
A memorial service was held Saturday, Apr. 20, at Whatcoat United Methodist Church, Route 92, White Sulphur Springs, where Pastor Buck Caldwell officiated.
Family and friends were received before the service on Saturday at the church.
Donations of sympathy may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, a charity Glenna donated to faithfully.
