GEHS wins Region 3AAA Regional

The GEHS Golf Team won the Region 3 AAA Regional at the Lewisburg Elk’s Course (par 70) on Sept. 29 against nine other schools. The four-player teams counted the total for the low three scores. GEHS finished with a total of 223. Individual scores were Team Captain Walker Dent 70 (Medalist), Madison Erskine 74, Thomas Willis 79 and Lindsey Ray 83.

Second place was George Washington with 225. Individual scores were Matt Nelson 73, Kyle Bird 76, Drew Call 76 and Harry Basile 77.

Both of these teams will go to the State Tournament on Oct. 6 through 8 at the Speidel Golf Course at Oglebay Park in Wheeling. In addition, the two medalists not on either team also go to the State Tournament. The two were Tyler Hillyer of Princeton who had 71 and Isaiah Zaccheo from Woodrow Wilson had a 72.

Other team scores were Woodrow Wilson 229, Princeton 241, South Charleston 256, Shady Spring 264, Ripley 279, Capital 290, Oak Hill 308 and Riverside who had only two players.
