GEHS golf team finishes first at Elk’s Club

The Greenbrier East Golf team finished first in a 9-hole match on the back 9, par 36, at the Lewisburg Elk’s Club on Sept. 25. The 4-player total was 162. Individual scores were Madison Erskine 39, Walker Dent 40, Griffin King 41, Lindsey Ray 42 and Thomas Willis 46.

Woodrow Wilson was second with 169. Individual scores were Isaiah Zaccheo 34 (Medalist), Kase Poling 40, Kenny Maiolo 45, Hunter Halstead 50 and Oliver Bradley 53.

Princeton finished third with 183. Individual scores were Tyler Hillyer 41, Steven Parker 44, Sarah Cole 47, Tanner Veneri 51 and Logan Austin 54.

Shady Spring finished fourth with 191. Individual scores were Kirby Campbell 40, Brandon Keaton 42, Jason Lusk 49, Luke Spurgeon 60 and Nathan Steiding 74.

The GEHS Golf Team will play in the AAA Regional at the Lewisburg Elk’s Club on Sept. 29 against 9 other AAA teams. Four players will play for each team and the low three total will count. The low two teams and two low medalists not on these two teams will qualify for the State Golf Tournament to be played on Oct. 7 and Oct. 8 at the Speidel Golf Course at Oglebay Park in Wheeling.
