The Greenbrier East High School Project Graduation 2020 Committee will have a Facebook Live event on Friday, June 26, at 1 p.m. to give away prizes and other cash drawings.  Cash and prizes will be available for pick up on Saturday, June 27, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and again on Tuesday, June 30, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the GEHS circle in front of the school.

Through the generous donations of our community businesses, sponsors, and the fundraising efforts of our GEHS Project Graduation Committee, each of the 249 graduates will automatically be eligible to receive $70 in cash.  The virtual event will include drawings for item prizes such as TVs, a Laptop Computer, Kayaks, dorm packages, camping packages, and a Yeti Cooler among other item prizes, additional cash drawings, and the grand prize of $2,020.  Graduates must pick up their cash and possible other winnings in person, must show a photo ID, and sign for the money.  We will also post the Facebook live event on YouTube to share with those not on Facebook.  Item prizes and additional cash winners will be notified by the telephone numbers provided to the school, but all graduates will be able to sign for $70 in cash.  Due to the recent rise in positive cases, we will be unable to have an in-person event.  Social distancing and masks are required for pick up.

Traditionally, the all-parent Greenbrier East High School Project Graduation committee holds a lock-in event right after graduation with lots of great food, fun games, and fantastic prizes.  This event is an effort to provide a safe, drug and alcohol-free environment to celebrate their milestone as a safe alternative to the temptations that our young people face today.  Our community businesses and private donors make it possible to offer substantial prizes to entice the young graduates to join us and we truly appreciate their continued support.  While we are disappointed to not hold the traditional event, we are very fortunate to live in the great Greenbrier Valley and the Project Graduation committee would like to thank each of our donors.  Congratulations to the Greenbrier East Graduating Class of 2020!
