Frankford Elementary kicks off Autumnfest with One Mile Run

On a beautiful autumn day at Frankford Elementary School, Dawson Trusty and Cassidy Kellison ran to victory, kicking off the 30th annual Frankford Autumnfest. Among 87 competitors in the 3rd through 5th grade division, Trusty, a third grader, ran the mile run with a time of 7 minutes and 25 seconds. Kellison, a fifth grader, ran a time of 7 minutes and 36 seconds.

Running a shorter and less challenging course, in the kindergarten through second grade division, second graders Trent Vance and Haley Workman claimed victory. Vance ran a time of 6 minutes and 31 seconds, while Workman ran a time of 6 minutes and 57 seconds. They competed with 89 other racers.

First place racers from each grade level include: Kindergarten – Patrick Morgan and Devin Haynes. First grade – Dylan Walton and Jayna Sheppard. Second grade – Caleb Tolley and Isabella Harrison. Third grade – Zach Reed and Harlie Wilson. Fourth grade – Austin Hoke and Paige Altizer. Fifth grade – Gavin Eskins and Gracie Roberts.

The top ten racers from the kindergarten through second grade division were: Trent Vance, Caleb Tolley, Patrick Morgan, Elijah Green, Haley Workman, Owen Haynes, Dylan Walton, Austin Benedict, Isabella Harrison and Kadom Broiher. The top ten racers from the third through fifth grade division were: Dawson Trusty, Cassidy Kellison, Austin Hoke, Zach Reed, Gavin Eskins, Isaac Vance, Evan McClure, Paige Altizer, Tristan Deeds and Abby Londeree.

The Frankford area has a long-standing tradition of maintaining a supportive community. In this autumn season, the youth of Frankford and the surrounding area celebrate hard-work, perseverance, healthful habits and sportsmanship. Congratulation is offered to all who participated.
