The lovely red begonia baskets once again hang on the lamp posts in Alderson. Paid for by sponsorships from generous people and groups and watered throughout the summer by Ross Copenhaver, they brighten everyone’s day.

They were grown by Blue Ridge Farms in Williamsburg; transported by Don and Marcia Sutherland; and hung with the help of town staff.  Doris Kasley, President of Alderson Main Street said, “They look small now but just wait to see how they grow with Ross’ great care!”

Alderson Main Street, who manages this project, thanks all the wonderful donors who made it possible: Anonymous in memory of Kayla; Charles and Betty Mulkey; Bob and Carolyn Holliday in memory of Mitty Miller Grizzard; Sue Ellen Grizzard; Linda and Roy Loudermilk; Melinda and Jim Russell; Jo Perez; Old Victorian Inn; Alderson Women’s Club; Steve Keadle; The Thrasher Group by William R. Watson; Roger and Betty Thomas; In memory of Mary Harnest by son Ernest Bryant and daughters Sally Mueller and Vivian Sheppard; Marjorie and Richard Witcher; and Ginny and Sam Walker.
