Florey Ormond “Buck” Bucklen, 92, passed away Friday, Jan. 31, 2025, at the Peyton Hospice House. Born on Jan. 3, 1933, in Buchanan, VA, he was the son of the late Florey Lewis and Eunice Compton Bucklen.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Marie Fitzwater Bucklen, and a brother, Arnold Vernon Bucklen.

Mr. Bucklen had worked for Chrysler before returning to Greenbrier County, where he worked for the Greenbrier Center and retired from the WV Department of Highways. He was also a US Army Veteran.

He is survived by three sons, Larry Bucklen (Terri), Vernon Bucklen (Sandy), and David Bucklen (Sonya); grandchildren, Britney LaFon, Steve Henne (Carlota), Ashley Bucklen (David), Tiffany Bennett (Alan), Christopher Bucklen (CeCe), and Shawn Bucklen; eight great-grandchildren; two nieces and a nephew.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 5, at the Morgan Funeral Home Chapel in Lewisburg, WV, with Pastor Stewart Farley officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in the Rosewood Cemetery, Lewisburg, WV.

The online guestbook can be signed at www.morganfh.net. Arrangements have been entrusted to Morgan Funeral Home, Lewisburg, WV.
