Ernest David Morris

Lewisburg-Ernest David Morris, 61, formerly of Ronceverte, passed away Monday, Apr. 27, 2015, at his residence.

He was born Sept. 13, 1953, in Ronceverte and was the son of the late Nina Ruth Weakley Hooper and Roy T. and Sarah Morris of Ronceverte.

Ernie was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Ronceverte and a retired correctional officer from the Federal Prison System in Alderson.

Surviving are: his father, Roy T. Morris and wife Sarah of Ronceverte; sisters, Angie Morris and husband Steve “Sam” Massie of Ronceverte and Brenda Kay Austin and husband Shawn of Huntersville, NC; brother, Alan “Moose” Morris and wife Karen of Lewisburg; niece, Tiffany Steele and husband Chris; nephew, Ethan Morris and wife Lauren; great-niece, Riley Steele and great-nephew Isaac Morris.

There will a graveside service Friday, May l, at Riverview Cemetery in Ronceverte at 2 p.m. with Rev. Bryan C. Baker officiating.

The family received their friends on Thursday evening, Apr. 30, at the Wallace & Wallace Funeral Home in Ronceverte.
