Cynthia Gail Alderman Kelly

White Sulphur Springs-Cynthia Gail Alderman Kelly was carried home to heaven by angels on Monday, Apr. 27, 2015, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was 71 years old.

Born on Mar. 3, 1944, in White Sulphur Springs, Cynthia was the fourth child of Wyatt Hill and Kathleen Wickline Alderman.

She graduated from White Sulphur Springs High School in 1962 and married John Kelly in 1963. They were married 51 years. Cynthia was a homemaker who took pride in cooking, caring for others, and her strong faith in her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She was a member of the Family of God Church in White Sulphur Springs, where her husband is the pastor. Her family and friends will remember her courage, strength, and how, even in the toughest of circumstances, she lived each day with a smile on her face.

Cynthia is survived by: her husband, John Kelly; son, Jonathan Kelly; daughter, Sharon Kelly Crance and husband Jeff Crance; siblings, Betty Turner, Pete Alderman, Mary Nemcik and husband John Nencik and Melissa Brock (Orlando, FL); grandchildren, Lindsay Crance and Ryan Crance; and many loved nieces and nephews as well as great-nieces and great-nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Wyatt Hill Alderman and Kathleen Wickline Alderman, and an infant sister, Beatrice Diane Alderman.

Because of Cynthia’s love of animals and the excellent care she received in her final days, the family requests that donations be made to the Greenbrier Humane Society (151 Holliday Lane, Lewisburg, WV 24901) and the Peyton Hospice House (1265 Maplewood Ave., Lewisburg, WV 24901) in lieu of flowers.

Her funeral service was held Wednesday, Apr. 29, at Wallace & Wallace Funeral Home in Lewisburg, where Pastor Ed Vallandingham officiated. Burial was in the Mapledale Cemetery, White Sulphur Springs.
