Students at Eastern Greenbrier Middle School gathered school supplies for Puerto Rican students whose homes were ravaged by Hurricane Maria, a category 5 storm that hit the island in 2017.

The supplies were transported to Puerto Rico by Kay Shirey, a counselor at EGMS who has joined a Volunteers In Mission team through the United Methodist Church. The Volunteers in Mission team spent ten days in Puerto Rico rebuilding homes and helping the community recover from the tragic hurricane.
