Alderson-Edward Glen “Eddie” Range, 59, peacefully passed away Friday, Jan. 28, 2022, at the White Sulphur Springs Center with his family at his side.

He was born May 6, 1962, in Livermore, CA, a son of the late Robert Browning and Shirley Ann (Still) Range.

Eddie was a fixture of the Alderson community. He loved devoting his time to the Alderson Volunteer Fire Department, where he was deeply respected. Eddie always had a smile on his face, watching and speaking to everyone as they passed the intersection of the Alderson Memorial Bridge. He enjoyed playing his PlayStation and watching television, especially The Dukes of Hazzard.  Eddie was a devout member of the River of Life Church of God, where he enjoyed singing and fellowship.

He loved to spend time with his friends and family. He will be deeply missed.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his cousins, Milton and Martha Black.

Eddie is survived by his sister, Anne Marie Richardson, of Raleigh, NC; his uncle, Jack Still and wife Polly, of Alderson; his niece, Ashley Simmons and husband Ben, of Raleigh, NC; his nephew, Zachary Richardson, of Salem, VA; as well as his loving cousins, Ray and Gina Still, and Rick, Jaime, and Bo Bowyer all of Alderson.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, Feb. 2, at the River of Life Church of God in Alderson, where Pastor Anthony Carter officiated. Burial followed in the Alderson-Fletcher Cemetery in Alderson.

Friends called Tuesday evening Feb. 1, at the Lobban Funeral Home in Alderson.

Serving as pallbearers were the members of the Alderson Volunteer Fire Department and EMS.

Online condolences and memories may be shared with the family at www.lobbanfh.com
