Doris Kay Brown

Fairlea-Doris Kay Brown, 60, formerly of Ronceverte, passed away Tuesday, Mar. 4, 2014, at her home following an extended illness.

Doris was born Jan. 27, 1954, in Monroe County, the daughter of Bernice Clarkson Edwards of Union and the late Warren James Smith.

Doris was a member of the Graystone Baptist Church in Fairlea.

Preceding her in death, other than her father, were: sisters, Loretta and Barbara; sister-in-law, Patty King; and brother-in-law, James Brown.

Surviving are: her husband of 41 years, William Edward Brown; mother, Bernice Edwards of Union; sons, William Craig Brown of Ronceverte and Timothy Scott Brown and companion Heather of Fairlea; grandchildren, MeKenzie, Destiny, Nathan and Collier; sister, Joannie Newton (Rick); brothers, Roger Smith (Judy), Carl Smith (Janet), Pat Smith (Martha), John Smith (Tamarah), George Smith (Tanya), Frank Smith (Colleen) and Billy Edwards; in-laws, Nellie King, Rosalie Kirk, Cathy Brown and Richard and Betty King.

Funeral services for Doris will be held Friday, Mar. 7 at 2 p.m. at Wallace & Wallace Funeral Home in Ronceverte with Rev. George Clarkson officiating.

Interment will follow in Morgan Cemetery near Ronceverte.

The family will receive family and friends from 12 noon until time of services on Friday at the funeral home.
