Donald Edward Marshall

Alderson-Donald Edward Marshall, 81, passed away Saturday, Jan. 31, 2015, at the White Sulphur Springs Center, White Sulphur Springs, following a short illness.

Born May 20, 1933, in Alderson, he was the son of the late Issac and Ruth Thelma Robinson Marshall.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death his wife, Dreama Hickman Marshall, and a son, Ronald Marshall.

Mr. Marshall was a retired, self-employed truck driver and was a member of the Shiloh Baptist Church, Alderson. He was an avid sportsman who loved to hunt and fish, and especially loved dogs. Mr. Marshall enjoyed spending time with family and friends and will always be remembered for being very outgoing and people oriented. He never met a stranger.

Survivors include: two brothers, Carl Marshall of Columbus, OH, and Melvin Marshall and wife Brenda of Columbus, OH; granddaughter, Joylen Marshall of Brooklyn, NY; grandson, Jason Marshall of Brooklyn, NY; great-grandson, Javon Marshall of Brooklyn, NY; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Memorial services were held on Monday, Feb. 9, at the Lobban Funeral Home Chapel, Alderson, where the Rev. Ron Sherrod officiated. Mr. Marshall’s final resting place will be in Pine Ridge Cemetery, Alderson.

Friends called Monday, Feb. 9, at the funeral home before the service.
