Crawley-Diana Kay Sayre Bird, 73, passed away Thursday, Nov. 30, 2023 at Peyton Hospice House in Lewisburg.
Born Aug. 27, 1950 at South Charleston, she was a daughter of the late Donald Eugene Sayre and Virda Verjean Jividen Sayre.
Diana has been an Administrative Secretary for West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine since 1982.
Diana loved her family more than anything. She also loved quilting, gardening, reading and creating the perfect Christmas for her loved ones. Many memories were made traveling to her favorite places.
In addition to her parents Diana was preceded in death by a daughter, Michelle Dawn Bird.
She is survived by her husband, Alvin Edward Bird; daughter, Kimberly Dawn (Tim) Lawrence of Gloucester, VA; sons, Aaron Grant (Katie) Knotts of Rupert and Aaron Edward (Shelley) Bird of Nitro; seven grandchildren, Jessica Leigh Martin (Ryan) Allen, Tonya Rayne Martin, Aurora Elizabeth Knotts, Audriana Isabelle Knotts, Austin (Cassie) Bird, Andrew Bird and Christopher “C.J.” Wickline; three brothers, Darrell (Beverly) Sayre of Nitro, Edwin “Eddie” (Diana) Sayre of Winfield and Jeffrey A. (Sheila) Sayre of Frazier Bottom; she is also survived by her special family, Tony Martin of White Sulphur Springs.
Diana has chosen to donate her body to WVSOM Human Gift Registry.
A Celebration of her Life will be held in the near future with the date to be announced.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Girl Scouts Troop #37400 c/o Jessica Allen, 171 Cora’s Way, White Sulphur Springs, WV 24986.
