Carnegie Hall is excited to offer a hands-on leather craft workshop with instructor Luke Davis on Saturday, Dec. 13 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Participants will learn to create their own custom leather cell phone case, designed to slide onto a belt for convenience and durability. This Appalachian Heritage Craft class combines practical function with timeless artistry, giving students the chance to make something both useful and beautiful.
Using easy-to-learn techniques and a wide selection of custom tools provided by the instructor, students will design and craft a one-of-a-kind cell holder that reflects their personal style. The workshop is appropriate for age 12 and older, and no prior experience is required. In addition to learning the fundamentals of leather craft, participants will discover how handmade items can be both durable and enduring, creating a piece that will last a lifetime.
Class size is limited, ensuring personalized instruction and a supportive environment. The cost is $75 for members and $85 for nonmembers, with scholarships available that reduce the student fee to just $40. Scholarships are generously provided by the Carnegie Cardinal Fund for students age 18 and under and by the Greenbrier Valley Community Foundation for participants age 50 and above.
