Let’s show the country how “cool” Lewisburg really is by taking to the course on Sunday, Sept. 22, for Greenbrier County’s 2013 annual CROP Hunger Walk sponsored by Church World Services and coordinated by Shuck Memorial Baptist Church in Lewisburg. Walkers and runners are invited to meet at Shuck, 210 W. Washington Street at 2 p.m. to embark on the 5K. Registration begins at 1:30 p.m.

CROP Hunger Walks are neighbors walking together to take a stand against hunger in our world and local communities. Different ages, faiths and backgrounds together raise awareness and funds for international relief and development, as well as for local food lockers. Development efforts include clean water projects, malnutrition aid and farming initiatives. Some 2,000 communities across the country take part each year. Twenty-five percent of monies raised is donated to our local food lockers. Donations may be made at the Walk or online at www.crophungerwalk.org/lewisburgwv. For additional information, call 304-645-7834.
