With cooler temperatures settling in and the holidays just around the corner, wrapping up in a cozy quilt brings the warmth of the season home. The Greenbrier Valley Visitors Center (GVVC) hosts the Alderson Quilters and Crafters Guild (AQCG) quilt show and sale through November and December. The GVVC is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Sundays (starting Nov. 8).
Sharing their talents and hard work with quilts, table runners, and other handcrafted items will fill the GVVC. At the center of the eye-catching display is the AQCG’s “rent quilt.” Each year the Guild collaborates to create a quilt and sells raffle tickets for it. Proceeds from the raffle are given to the Alderson Community Center to pay “rent” for the AQCG’s meeting space.
The AQCG is stitched together by their love of sewing and community. The quilters meet monthly to learn new skills, share ideas and showcase their projects.
