Cody Dwayne Carter

Alderson-Cody Dwayne Carter, 29, passed away after a long battle with cancer on Sunday, July 18, 2021, at the Princeton Community Hospital in Princeton, WV.  

He was Born on June 21, 1992, in Beckley, a son of Kristy (Nikolaus) Wilson and husband Eddie, of Wayside, and Ronnie “Dwayne” Carter and wife Patchila, of Alderson.

Cody was a graduate of James Monroe High School and attended West Virginia University Institute of Technology where he in majored mathematics and education.  He was presently self-employed as a private tutor.  He will be remembered for his of love reading, teaching, and caring for his pets, but most all his love for his family and friends.  

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his companion of five years, Jeremy Smith of Ivydale; his brothers, Andrew Carter and wife Brittney of Alderson, Warren Weikle and wife Lilly of Lewisburg, Brandon Carter, of Alderson, Scott Weikle and wife Jamie of Union; his stepbrothers, Timothy Wilson and wife Lori of Alderson, Stony Wilson and wife Shenna of Wayside, Buddy Wilson and Jermie Massie, both of Alderson; his stepsisters, Hailey Dolbow and husband Dustin of Ballard, and Alysia Massie and companion Jordan Phillips of Alderson; his grandparents, Chuck Nikolaus and wife Barbara of Wayside; his special aunt, Missy Hopkins and husband Jerry of Alderson; along with several nieces and nephews and numerous loved and cherished friends.

Cody was preceded in death by his grandparents, Delano and Faye Carter. 

The family extends their gratitude to Cody’s special friend, Rania Riffle, for the excellent care he received during his sickness. 

In keeping with his wishes, Cody will be cremated.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
