New River Unitarian Universalist Fellowship

Smoot Baptist

will sponsor Vacation Bible School for the children of Smoot and surrounding communities July 22-26 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. The Mighty God – God Leads Moses and Me is an exciting and interactive learning experience for age 2 to 102. Carmel Church

The Annual Gap Mills Alumni will meet Saturday, July 27 at the Carmel Church at Gap Mills, starting at 10 a.m. in celebration of school days past. Also participating in this event are Friends of THE Second Creek, Inc. and the Gap Mills Methodist Church. The Gap Mills UMC Women will provide lunch for a donation. Please bring your lawn chair to enjoy friendships old and new under the shade of the Old Oak Tree. St. Thomas Episcopal Church

The Episcopal Church Women of St. Thomas Episcopal Church in White Sulphur Springs will hold a rummage sale Friday, Aug. 2 and Saturday, Aug. 3 from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. in Butler Hall. Donations are welcome. We are accepting clothing, accessories, hats, shoes and bedding. Please drop off at the church office at 205 West Main Street, White Sulphur Springs on Tuesday – Friday between 9 a.m. – noon.

Woodland Church in Auto

plans a Teen Weekend Aug. 2, 3 and 4. The group Forerunner from Circleville, Ohio, will be ministering and performing at each service. Forerunner is a group of four young ordained ministers dedicated to serving Christ through teen ministry. On Friday,  Aug. 2,  events will begin at 6 p.m. with music, interactive discussion groups, praise and worship, skits, campfire circle, games and refreshments. On Saturday, Aug. 3, events will begin at 3 p.m. with a picnic followed by a Christian rock concert presented by Forerunner. Sunday, Aug. 4 services will begin at 10 a.m.  “Teens” of all ages are encouraged to join us for a weekend of fun and fellowship. Ketron Church

Please join us again this year as we celebrate the Ketron Church, its people and its legacy. The annual Ketron Church & COMMUNITY Homecoming will be held Sunday, Aug. 4 at 11 a.m. Our speaker this year is Michelle Jones, great-granddaughter of the late Robert and Rosalie Underwood and Lena West and the granddaughter of the late Forrest and Betty West. She will recount some of her memories growing up in the Ketron Church. Following the worship service we will gather at the Frank Whanger Picnic Shelter for a carry-in lunch and a brief business meeeting. Paper products and utensils will be provided. Please join us and bring family and friends as we visit and worship together.

Lochgelly Baptist Church

with Evangelist Dwight Easler and the Mission Team from Corinth Baptist Church in Gaffney, SC, will present Revival Services and Baptist Youth Fellowship Sunday, Aug. 4-8 at 7 p.m. each night. There will be special singing by The Relators from Ansted, Corinth Baptist Church Choir and Lochgelly Baptist Church Youth Choir. The church is located ½ mile off Rt. 19 on Lochgelly Road past Fayette Clinic.

Church Homecoming Sunday will be held Aug. 4 beginning at 10 a.m. at Lochgelly Baptist Church. Guest speaker, special singing, dinner on the grounds. Bring your photos and memories to share. For information call Pastor Bill McClung at 304-574-2208 or 304-237-3147.

Greenbrier Valley Aglow Community Lighthouse

holds monthly meetings the third Monday of each month at 7 p.m. at the Fairfield Inn in Lewisburg. Aglow International is an inter-denominational group of women and men whose vision is to carry the truth of the kingdom that restores people to a radiant place of relationship with God and one another.
