Spaghetti Dinner fundraiser at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church

St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, located at 40798 Midland Trail E. in White Sulphur Springs, invites the community to a Spaghetti Dinner Fundraiser in the church Parish Hall on Sunday, Oct. 8, from 4 to 6 p.m. The menu will include spaghetti with your choice of vegetarian tomato or meat sauce. The meat sauce will be made using locally sourced grass-fed beef and prepared by Sue Moats, chef at the Greenbrier. A tossed salad, rolls, drinks, and your choice of an Italian dessert will be included. Eat in or take out are both available. This year we also offer a third option: you can also buy a dinner which will be delivered to a local senior citizen by the volunteer drivers who help with Gwen’s Meals. Tickets are $12 for adults, $5 for children under 12. Get your tickets soon as seating is limited. To buy tickets, please call the church office at 304-536-1813.

Singers invited to join Community Christmas Cantata

Once again, the First Baptist Church of Fairlea welcomes the public to celebrate Christmas in song! The cantata “Go, Tell It on the Mountain” brings a contemporary worship experience of modernized traditional carols, worship ballads, and gospel-style originals, conveying the joy, wonder, and inspiration of Christ’s humble and wondrous birth. The cantata, under the direction of Jeff Bryant, will be presented Dec. 16 at 8:30 p.m. in the Chapel of The Greenbrier and Dec. 17 at 7:30 p.m. in the sanctuary of First Baptist of Fairlea. A live orchestra will accompany the choir, featuring both local and regional musicians. The first rehearsal for interested singers (no audition needed) is Sunday, Oct. 8, at 5 p.m. at First Baptist of Fairlea. The choir will practice every Sunday until the cantata is presented. Questions may be directed to FBC’s church office at fbcsharp@gmail.com or 304-645-3533.
