Charles Frank Finley

Richmond, VA-Charles Franklin Finley, 92, formerly of Lewisburg, died Sunday, Nov. 27, 2022.

Frank was born Nov. 23, 1930, in Parkersburg, the son of the late Paul L. and Dortha Harris Finley.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Jo Finley; parents, Paul L. Finley and A. Dortha Finley; and brother, Donald H. Finley.

Frank leaves behind to cherish his memory his children, Anna Marie Yarbrough, Debra Tavasso (Kim) and Franklin “Chip” Finley (Cheryl); six grandchildren, Emily and Charlie Yarbrough, Lee Tavasso (Megan), and Sara, Lara, and Mary Finley; and many other loving family members.

Frank will be well remembered for his vivacious enthusiasm and zest for life. He was a lifelong active member of the United Methodist Church. He was involved in several organizations including the Greenbrier Lodge #42 Masons in Lewisburg, past Grand Royal Patron of the Order of the Amaranth, and the “Head Nut” of Tuckahoe Kiwanis. He was a veteran of the US Army serving in the 541st Signal Depot, US Forces Austria, WVU class of ‘52, and a 35-year career with the Travelers Insurance Company.

The family will receive friends from 12 noon to 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 7, at Shady Grove U.M.C., 4825 Pouncey Tract Road, Glen Allen, VA. where a Celebration of Frank’s Life will be held at 1 p.m. The celebration will also be available online at https://www.shadygroveumc.net/livestream

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Shady Grove U.M.C. Building Fund, 4825 Pouncey Tract Rd., Glen Allen, VA  23059
