Celebrate First Fridays after 5 in Downtown Lewisburg – October 3

Historic Downtown Lewisburg celebrates First Fridays after Five on Friday, Oct. 3. Join the fun in downtown Lewisburg … live music, art events and tasty treats … all free to the public. Everyone is welcome!

Washington Street Gallery is celebrating its 10th Year Anniversary, featuring nationally known ceramic artist, Michael Frasca. Stop by for the opening and artist’s reception. (123 West Washington Street, 647-4561)

Greenbrier Valley Baking Company invites you to “Get Sauced with GVBC 2x” – A Pizza & Beer Pairing! Stop in for free specialty pizza samples AND Greenbrier Valley Brewing Company’s great beer selection. (110 South Jefferson Street, 645-6159)

The Greenbrier Valley Visitors Center will feature the music of two local groups, duo Robin Wright & Doug Blankenship and Strum Sum Band. October’s “Art in the Valley” exhibit will be an Art and Poetry display, created by members of Greenbrier Artists and contributing artists. Representatives from Relay for Life will be handing out literature about their upcoming events. (200 W. Washington Street, 304-645-1000)

Join the Greenbrier Historical Society at the North House Museum for a night of haunted history at our “Voices from the Dead: Historic Tragedies” program. Visitors are invited to hear three historical characters tell their tragic tales as you make your way through the museum. Tours will be held at 5, 5:30 and 6 p.m. A 6:30 p.m. tour may be added if needed. A limited number of tickets for each tour are available that night on a first come, first served basis. Plaid Eagle will be open to welcome all old and new friends to their “Retiring Event.” Enjoy a glass of wine and a final tour of American Fostoria, books, jewelry, quilts and so much more! (117B East Washington Street, 645-0000)

Bella the Corner Gourmet will be tasting ciders and wines reflecting the onset of autumn foods, football, fun, family and friend gatherings … stop in for a sample. (100 East Washington Street, 520-4921)

Don Drummer and Cathy Jo Lowry will perform at Plants Etc. on pedal steel guitar and piano. Also, Christine Keller from Buckhannon will showcase and talk about her unique one of a kind jewelry. (102 South Jefferson Street, 645-6910)

Popcorn snacks for all visitors starting at 6:30 p.m. at The Lewis Theater. (224 N. Court Street, 645-6919)

The Irish Pub will feature traditional Celtic music by Patrick O’Flaherty from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. and then the Rivertown Gypsies will take the stage at 9 p.m. Come and enjoy good music, a great atmosphere and a delicious beverage. (109 East Washington Street, 645-7386)

First Fridays after 5 takes place all year long in downtown Lewisburg with shops, galleries and restaurants in downtown Lewisburg open until 9 p.m. serving complimentary refreshments and entertainment, sponsored by City National Bank. Downtown Lewisburg, America’s Coolest Small Town, is just 1 mile south of I-64 via exit 169. The town center is located at Washington Street (Rt. 60) and Jefferson Street (Rt. 219).
