Still life oil painting workshop

Noted Charleston artist Arthur Evans will give a three-day workshop at Carnegie Hall on Sept. 12, 13 and 14. Evans will demonstrate the art of painting ceramic, and brass or copper vessels with a limited floral still life. For more information, contact the office at Carnegie Hall at 304-645-7917.

Dining with Diabetes

The WVU Extension Service and Greenbrier Valley Medical Center are sponsoring a Dining with Diabetes Cooking School starting Monday, Sept. 12. The class will meet from 6-8 p.m. in Annex 1 classroom at Greenbrier Valley Medical Center. Classes will be held Sept. 12, 19, 26 and Oct. 3. Each session will include an educational lesson taught by a health care provider and cooking demonstrations by WVU Extension Service. Dining with Diabetes is free for diabetics and their care takers, but registration is required. Please call Kay Davis at 304-647-7408 to register.

Williamsburg Food Pantry

The Greenbrier Community Services in Williamsburg offers food distribution to the community on the third Saturday of each month from 10-11 a.m. to those who qualify. Call 304-392-5537.

Art & Craft Show at Fairgrounds

This year the 36th Annual Art & Craft Show sponsored by Edgewood Presbyterian Church will be held Sept. 16, 17 and 18 at the WV State Fair Event Center. Friday and Saturday 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sunday 12 noon to 4 p.m. Proceeds to benefit Hope Haven Homeless Shelter, Greg Carter Memorial Scholarship Fund, EPC Scholarship Fund and EPC Growth and Improvement Fund. Free parking, good food and nearly 100 exhibitors – woodcrafts, candles, jewelry, needlecraft, primitives, paintings, baskets and homemade apple butter. And on Saturday, Sept. 17, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., the Throttle Throbs Car Show. For more information call 304-392-6607.

Sept. 11, 2-6 p.m. – National Grandparents Day on Main Street and in the Sculpture Garden. Music, stories, crafts, food, and more.

Sept. 15, 9 a.m. – Chat ‘n’ Chew at Fenwick Diner – Join us in making plans for Harvest decorating of Main Street.

AA meetings

are held at St. James Episcopal Church, 218 South Court Street, Lewisburg, Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 7 p.m. and Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday at 12 noon.

NarAnon meetings

are held Wednesday evenings at 7 p.m. at St. James Episcopal Church, 218 South Court Street, Lewisburg. NarAnon is a 12-step support group for persons affected by someone else’s addiction. Call Susan at 304-646-6506 for more information.

Weekly AI-Anon meetings

are held every Thursday, 7-8 p.m. at Lewisburg United Methodist Church. Enter at Lee Street door. AI-Anon is a 12-step organization for family and friends of people with alcohol problems. For information call Sue at 304-646-6506 or Dee at 304-667-1766.

The Bluefield Princeton area

Multiple Sclerosis (MS) Support Group

meets once a month, usually around the last Tuesday. The group is open to all who have MS and also family and friends. Medical students and such are welcome. There is no charge or fee to join. We’re into our 28th year as a group. Please come, you’ll find us a caring and encouraging group. For information call Doug Mullins, group leader, at 304-753-9126.
